Janet Levitt joined Avalon Securities, Ltd. in 2017 as a Managing Director. She has been, and remains, a Managing Director of iQ Venture Advisors, LLC, a boutique consulting firm, and its predecessor firm since 2001. She has successfully assisted numerous organizations for more than 25 years. As a result, she brings a wide range of experience in helping companies in diverse industries and other organizations needing sophisticated advice. She continues to provide valuable advice to clients seeking strategic direction and financing.
As a key consultant to entrepreneurs and other leaders, she has helped them organize, plan, and obtain financing. Her experience includes working with early stage companies as well as hedge funds, funds of funds, venture capital and private equity funds. Ms. Levitt was instrumental in starting the venture philanthropy fund at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, now known as Fast Forward.
Prior to iQ, she was a charitable foundation manager and has worked at a leading venture capital firm. She also has been a securities analyst and a portfolio manager for two large New York City banks.
She co-authored two editions of “Public Venture Capital: Sources of Government Funding for Technology Entrepreneurs” (New York: Harcourt, 2000 and Aspen, 2001).
Ms. Levitt graduated with an AB in chemistry from Barnard College, an MAT in chemistry from Harvard University and an MBA in finance from Columbia University.
She holds series 7, 66 and 79 FINRA licenses.
