Matthew Polsky
Matthew I. Polsky, Director of Avalon Net Worth., has over 30 years of experience as an investment banker, commercial banker and retailer. His operating background provides him with a unique set of skills in working with mid-size firms pursuing strategic initiatives.
Mr. Polsky began his career with Irving Trust, where with his fluency in Chinese, he was assigned to the bank's Taipei Branch. In 1990 Mr. Polsky helped found Polsky Associates, Inc., to acquire the assets of a bankrupt menswear retail chain which was a principal host lessor of the leather lease department business he had previously acquired. From there, he established several other retail ventures. In 1994 he joined GPR Eastwood Associates, an investment banking boutique which handled turnaround and M&A assignments for middle market firms. He was instrumental in transactions involving companies in a broad range of industrial, service and consumer activities, and assisted a number of stressed businesses to successfully restructure their operations.
Mr. Polsky's style has always been to work closely with clients to develop an intimate knowledge of a company's operations and understanding of its business model. Coupled with his reputation for relentless pursuit of transactions in clients' best interests, Mr. Polsky acts with sophistication and drive to get the "deal" done.
Mr. Polsky received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and MBA from the Wharton School.
A lifelong New Yorker, Mr. Polsky is active in Asian affairs and mentoring programs. He also holds a Series 82 FINRA license.
